Cyclic friction-slip behaviour of G350-steel bolted connections

چکیده

In this study, an experimental program was performed to investigate the cyclic friction-slip behaviour of AS/NZS 3678–350 (G350) steel with different surface finishes. Fifteen bolted connections consisting EN 1090–2 slip factor test assemblies M16 bolts were prepared and tested five commonly used finishes including inorganic zinc silicate (IZS), epoxy primer (EZP), aliphatic acrylic polyurethane (PUR), abrasive blasted (SA2), clean mill scale (CMS). The first initial force-slip stiffness are reported for each finish compared existing literature design standards. An empirical model is proposed predict based on stiffness, its accuracy demonstrated coated uncoated steel. effects load then considered, evaluated discussed. Finally, corresponding models as a function cumulative displacement.

Numerical Analysis of Cyclic Behavior of Beam-To-Column Bolted Connections in Steel Frames

This article considers the seismic behavior of beam-to-column joints in steel frames for different bolt arrangements by using of finite element modeling. As the most important beam-to-column joint type, the beam-to-column joints with end-plate is chosen for the analysis. Four different specimens have been analyzed. These models had some differences such as bolt arrangement and the presence or a...

Cyclic response of multiple bolted connections

Because of it’s economy, high strength-to-weight ratio and stiffness-to-weight ratio, wood can compete with steel and reinforced concrete as a construction material in a market with an increasing demand for large structures such as community buildings, gymnasiums, schools and bridges. However, continued acceptance or expansion in this market, particularly in high wind or seismic areas, depends ...

Structural behavior of cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections

This paper presents a series of tests on cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections. The test specimens were fabricated from three different types of stainless steel, including austenitic stainless steel EN1.4301 (AISI 304) and EN1.4571 (AISI 316Ti having small amount of titanium) as well as lean duplex stainless steel EN1.4162 (AISI S32101). The material properties of the three types of st...

Finite Element Analysis on Tensile Stiffness of Cold-Formed Steel Bolted Connections

This paper presents a finite element analysis on the tensile stiffness of steel bolted connections, which are fabricated from thin-walled cold-formed steel strips and members. This type of bolted connection is usually used to assemble the diagonal bracing member in the light steel structure. Unlike the architectural steel structure, thin walled steel bolted connection cannot be simplified into ...
